Creemos Online App

PWA app I developed in 2019 to promote event attendance by students at my university.

The mechanics behind the “CREEMOS ONLINE” app is that at events held by the “CREEMOS” student group (which I was part of) at the university there would be several QR codes which people attending could scan with the app.

There were codes of unlimited uses, as well as some of one-time use to the first person who found it, this allowed to give the application great dynamism and to be used in ways totally out of my first ideas for it!

For we were able to do from treasure hunts, to promoting “finding” a certain person with a special code throughout the campus.

Also, there was the option to create custom “missions” which could then be confirmed by the platform administrators, they were more specific missions that wanted the user to do a certain activity (Example: go to the cafeteria and shout “I am a blue sheep!”) that could give additional points to the users.

We managed to register more than 100 users throughout the week and we were trending in whatsapp statuses.

There is not much to comment on the technical section of the application, it is a really simple Quasar and Laravel application, I managed to do it in less than 3 days and I had to prioritize many features I wanted to add to get it.

It was my first time living a continuous delivery with all the letters, seeing how from my house I launched an update and then I saw how it failed in all the phones of my colleagues 🤦‍♂️

Something interesting on a technical level is that I was able to use Quasar’s quite useful tools to change the color palette of the application quite quickly.

To speed up the process, I also had to delegate the development of an improvised administrative panel to one of my colleagues who was started in Laravel, the result was this:

Improvised administrative panel!

It looks a bit bad, but it worked pretty well!

I also remember that in this experience I started to use fetch in all my PWA because of a bug that caused Axios in IOs devices, I have faith that they have already fixed it after 2 years….
